Exemptions<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

An exemption is required for indivisible loads measuring 16.50 x 2.55 x 4.00 or weighing 40,000 kg or more.<\/p>\n

In the case of a motor vehicle with a trailer, an exemption for indivisible cargo is required for dimensions exceeding: 18.75 x 2.55 x 4.00 x 40,000 kg.<\/p>\n

Annual Exemption:
<\/u>The maximum dimensions for an annual exemption for Austria are: 25.00 x 3.50 x 4.20 x 60,000 kg.<\/p>\n

Annual exemptions are not issued in all states. A separate application is required for the states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg.<\/p>\n

A road network is included in an annual exemption. The annual exemption is valid only on the roads listed herein. <\/p>\n

Guided Tours<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

With regard to transport escort, a distinction is made in Austria between four so-called \u201cStufen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Level 1:
<\/u> In accordance with the first stage, the transport must be accompanied by one transport escort. The most important requirements are that this escort be fluent in German, be familiar with the local road network, and be aware of the terms of the exemption.<\/p>\n

Stage 2:
<\/u>In accordance with Stage 2, the transport is escorted by a certified Austrian transport escort traveling in an escort vehicle that complies with legal requirements.<\/p>\n

Level 3:
<\/u>According to Level 3, two certified supervisors are required.<\/p>\n

Level 4:
<\/u>According to Level 4, three certified supervisors are required. In addition, a supervisor is assigned in accordance with the first level.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
