An exemption is required for indivisible loads measuring 16.50 x 2.55 x 4.00 or weighing 44,000 kg or more.

In the case of a motor vehicle with a trailer, an exemption for indivisible cargo is required for dimensions exceeding: 18.75 x 2.55 x 4.00 x 44,000 kg.

For a single vehicle, an exemption is required if its total length exceeds twelve meters.

All of Belgium:
A Gans België exemption can, as the name suggests, be used throughout Belgium.

Highway Networks
In Belgium, vehicles with a maximum mass of 44,000 kg and a maximum height of 4.30 are permitted on the highways.

90 or 120 mesh:
In Belgium, a system of network exemptions is used. In Belgium, network routes have been designated that may be traveled on by vehicles with a Network 90 or 120 exemption. The routes run throughout Belgium and include, for example, the ports of Antwerp and Zeebrugge.

Route:
A route exemption can be requested if the dimensions of the load exceed the above measurements, or if the final destination is not within the network.

Network cranes:
In addition to the exemptions listed above, Belgium also has a “Network Cranes” exemption for the transport of self-propelled machinery.

This Belgian crane network applies exclusively to 9-axle mobile cranes. For mobile cranes with up to 8 axles, the 90-metric-ton route must be used.
