Regulations in Denmark
Exemptions
Whether an exemption is required in Denmark depends on the dimensions of the load and the technical capabilities of the vehicle combination. Below is an overview.
Guided Tours
In Denmark, if an oversized load is longer than 30 meters, an escort is required. With regard to width, an escort is required for loads 3.65 meters or wider on local roads and 4.00 meters or wider on highways.
Driving Restrictions
In Denmark, driving restrictions vary by region. For more information about driving restrictions in Denmark, please contact our exemption department.
Mirror Requirement
During transport, the driver must have adequate rear visibility past the load, either through mirrors or an approved camera system. If this is not possible and the driver cannot see past the load, an escort may be required under Danish regulations.
Classification System
Denmark uses a classification system for exceptional transport. Classification is required when standard dimensions or weights are exceeded. The classification determines which permit is required and which conditions apply, such as route restrictions, driving hours, and any escort requirements. The higher the classification, the stricter the transportation requirements.
