Exemptions

In Norway, a permit is required if the following dimensions are exceeded: 20.00 x 3.25 x 4.50 x 50 metric tons.

Norway does not grant long-term exemptions. Route exemptions are issued only for a period of one month.

Guided Tours

In Norway, vessels with a width of three meters or more and/or a length of 23.50 meters or more are required to have at least one crew member on board. The exact number of chaperones is not known in advance and is determined by the authorities when the exemption is granted.
